Understanding dB gain
Decibels are logarithmic
Every +3 dB roughly doubles the measured sound energy, and +10 dB is perceived as about twice as loud to the human ear. So a "+6 dB" system is a clearly noticeable step, not a subtle one.
Where we measure
Our dB figures are cold-start peaks measured 20 inches from the tip. Cruising and highway levels are far lower — most of our cat-backs are drone-free at 70 mph.
